Why Can'T I Write An Essay
I've had chronic "writer's block" for months now. I've gone from an A-grade essay writer to getting an E in my mocks and not handing essays in for months, to the chagrin of my teachers, even after being moaned at about it several times. I can't bring myself to.
The inability to believe in one’s capabilities and skills is one of the most common problems in essay writing that students have to face. Students who think they are not good at writing will have trouble starting their papers. They doubt their capability to complete it as well.
To target the distraction issue, find a quiet place where you can sit down and write your essay and make sure that they only tab or program you have open is your document, unless you have other research you have to look at while writing. To tackle the incentive issue, give yourself small rewards throughout the writing process.
Write down your list of limiting beliefs – the negative thoughts and emotions that come to you when you think of writing, or yourself as a writer. If it’s difficult to come up with the honest answers about what’s holding you back, you can work with a mentor or coach to do some soul-searching and self-discovery.
